In cooperation with TU Berlin / Collaborative Research Centre 1265 “Re-figuration of Spaces”, AFRIKAMERA presents the series awarded at FESPACO 2021: journalist Oliwina returns to her home country, which she had left for 15 years due to a traumatic event, to investigate the disappearance of her younger brother Pao.

BIOGRAPHY

SAMANTHA BIFFOT, born in Paris in 1985, grew up between the West African country of Gabon, France and South Korea. After a brief excursion into law, she studied film at the École Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle de Paris, specialising in editing. After graduating, the filmmaker returned to Libreville, Gabon. There she founded the production company Princess M Productions. Her documentary THE AFRICAN WHO WANTED TO FLY won numerous festival awards. In addition to documentaries, she also produces TV series for Canal+ and TV5 Afrique, among others. Back in 2013, she won the prize for best TV series at the Festival Panafricain du Cinéma de Ouagadougou (Fespaco) with L’ŒIL DE LA CITE.
