ROKHAYA MARIEME BALDE, born in Dakar (Senegal) in 1995, began her studies at Sup Imax Dakar (Institut Supérieur des Arts et Métiers du Numérique) in 2017. After a year of studying international business in China and a semester of political science at the University of Montreal, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in filmmaking from HEAD of Geneva (Haute école d’art et de design) in 2020. At the 58th Solothurn Film Festival, Rokhaya Balde was awarded the Upcoming Lab Prize for her project.
