Presented is an exclusive program curated by festival director Alex Moussa Sawadogo of outstanding short and medium-length films by filmmakers from the African continent and the African diaspora. The director of BORD À BORD, Sahar El Echi, will be present at the screening.
As a film curator, she was also a member of the selection committee for the Malmö Arab Film Festival (2022) and headed the 1st Carthage Critics’ Week at the Carthage Film Days JCC.

Mounirar, a woman in her thirties, makes a living from her small fricassee shop inherited from her late father. The shop is in the heart of the Henchir Lehoudiya scrapyard, a southern suburb of Tunis, largely male-dominated. In this harsh environment, she faces new challenges daily. Determined like thousands of Tunisian women in difficult circumstances, Mounirar possesses an inner strength that allows her not only to overcome obstacles but also to run her business in a hostile environment

SAHAR EL ECHI, born in 1992, lives and works in Tunis. The visual artist, filmmaker, and film scholar studied graphic design and communication at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Tunis (ISBAT). She has directed several short films (MUTATION (2016), ENTRE-DEUX (2018), and MANWELLA (2022)) and video art works presented at national and international festivals. She has also served as a film curator, being part of the selection committee of the Malmö Arab Film Festival (2022) and leading the 1st Carthage Critics’ Week of the Carthage Film Days JCC.

In a badly-lit room, Bouba of the special forces is in the middle of an interrogation with an Ansarul Islam fighter apprehended following a joint military operation carried out in the Foulsaré forest, at the border between Burkina Faso and Mali. What could possibly come out of the exchanges between these two men consumed by pain, the thirst for revenge and who are completely opposed? This dialogue is that of a Nation under construction facing its own demons.
ISMAËL COMPAORÉ has produced several reports and documentary films for television and the web, including as co-director of the documentary KOGLWEOGO LAND (2017), about citizen militias in Burkina Faso. FOULSARÉ(2024) is his current short film project.
