Mounirar, a woman in her thirties, makes a living from her small fricassee shop inherited from her late father. The shop is in the heart of the Henchir Lehoudiya scrapyard, a southern suburb of Tunis, largely male-dominated. In this harsh environment, she faces new challenges daily. Determined like thousands of Tunisian women in difficult circumstances, Mounirar possesses an inner strength that allows her not only to overcome obstacles but also to run her business in a hostile environment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAHAR EL ECHI<\/strong>, born in 1992, lives and works in Tunis. The visual artist, filmmaker, and film scholar studied graphic design and communication at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Tunis (ISBAT). She has directed several short films (MUTATION (2016), ENTRE-DEUX (2018), and MANWELLA (2022)) and video art works presented at national and international festivals. She has also served as a film curator, being part of the selection committee of the Malm\u00f6 Arab Film Festival (2022) and leading the 1st Carthage Critics’ Week of the Carthage Film Days JCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
