In a double feature AFRIKAMERA presents two recent documentary films from Gabon and Ivory Coast. While in Gabon in 2016, the presidential election campaign rages, leads the young boxer Christ Mickala his personal struggle for survival: Underground he trains, at night he works as a bouncer. BOXING LIBREVILLE provides an intense insight into the realities of life of young adults in today’s Western Africa.
VIVRE RICHE portrays young men from Ivory Coast. Using the Internet, “Rolex the Portuguese” and his friends ensnare white ladies looking for love or sex in Africa …
AMÉDÉE PACÔME NKOULOU studied at the Institut Supérieur de l’Image et du Son in Burkina Faso. His short film MOANE MORY was shown at numerous festivals in Africa and Europe in 2014.
JOËL AKAFOU (* 1986) is an Ivorian screenwriter, playwright and director. After completing his diploma, he realized several short films, including NOURAH (2016). His first documentary VIVRE RICHE was awarded at the festivals Visions du Réel and Corsica.Doc.
